My Story

My five year old son Stanley was born with a rare genetic condition called achondroplasia. We have been seeing the team at the Evelina since he was four months old as they run a specialist clinic ( unfortunately there isn’t much expertise here in Devon) Achondroplasia stunts bone growth and can have several serious health complications.

It was through the team we heard about and became involved  in a worldwide clinical trial. Stanley is one of seven children in the UK for his age taking part. For the last five years we have been travelling to London at least twice a year. In that time the clinical research team, achondroplasia team and all departments have been more than amazing and looked after us all so well.

I feel it’s my time to return the favour by raising some money for them.

I'm taking on the St Thomas' Abseil 2023 in support of the dedicated Evelina London team and the compassionate, trailblazing care they offer to over 103,000 children each year.

By sponsoring me to do the St Thomas' Abseil, your money could go towards some incredible things...

£10 could help put a child's mind at ease with imaginative toys, books and games that explain what happens in hospital.

£100 could help the team put together amazing rucksacks full of distraction toys for every ward and department.

£350 could buy even more DVD players with headphones and give every child the chance to escape into their favourite film.
