My Story
I'm taking on the St Thomas' Abseil 2024 in support of the dedicated Evelina London team and the compassionate, trailblazing care they offer to over 103,000 children each year.
My personal story for taking on this abseil challenge (even though I have never abseiled before 😀) is that St Thomas' Hospital is like my second home and the amazing Evelina is an amazing part of this beautiful hospital.
I was born at St Thomas' Hospital many many years ago and then went on to have my 3 daughters here .
my first daughter Emma Hope Connelly was born here in 1979 but sadly she was premature and only survived 2 weeks x My Emma Hope will never be forgotten 💕 The Neo Natal Team which today is part of the Evelina London Children's Hospital were amazing, they did everything to help her with love and passion and the compassion they showed me was next to none, I will never forget them. My other 2 girls are healthy happy adults now.
The last part of my story is that I walked through the doors on the 13th June 1994 and started working at St Thomas' Hospital and I'm still there 30 years on. My job brings me in contact with the dedicated staff in the Evelina over the phone and I have nothing but admiration for the commitment, caring and compassion these incredible staff show to their patients and relatives.
so it is a real honour to take on this challenge to raise much needed money to help the children and parents who come through the doors of the Evelina London Childrens Hospital.
Thank you xxx
